Delhi - Childre's Day

Children's Day is celebrated across the world on different days to honour children globally. Children's Day also known as "Bal Diwas" is celebrated on the 14th November in India. It is celebrated the First Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru's birthday on November 14th every year as a tribute. And increase the awareness of people towards the rights, care and education of children. Children are the key of success and development of the country as they would lead their country in different technological way. They are innocent, admirable, pure, loved by everyone. Lovingly called 'Chacha Nehru' which means Uncle Nehru, he gave emphasis to the significance of giving love and affection to children, who are the bright future of India. He was really fond of children as well as roses that’s he said that children are like the buds of the garden. He said that children are the country’s actual strength as they would make developed society in future.

India celebrate Children's Day through Government and Non-Government organisations, cultural programs, sports activities, entertainment and other conducts variety of competitions as well as events for the children to let them known about their rights and make them happy and cheer. Schools, clubs, public libraries, and cultural institutes sponsor games, sports events, races, and programs inviting the student's participations. Several NGO's and private donors contribute to the orphanages and centers for the differently able children to combat poverty. Clothes and books are distributed to the needy kids. Communities in metropolitan cities arrange for cultural songs and dance performances to make a delightful evening. From special programmes in schools to treats and gifts from parents, it is a day full of fun and excitement.
